3-day event to mark World River Day begins today | Pune News

The Pune River Revival Group has organised a three-day event starting from Sunday to mark World River Day, which is celebrated on September 24 every year. The theme of this year’s celebration is ‘right of rivers’, through which a call will be given to designate rivers as a national treasure.

As part of the celebrations, the group has organised an exhibition titled, ‘Nadicha Jeev Kashat’ (where is the heart of the river), that will be held at the Yashwantrao Chavan Kaladalan in Kothrud on all three days from 11am to 7pm.

Wikimedia Commons, through CIS-A2K, organised a photo contest called ‘Mula Mutha Nadi darshan.’ The winners of the contest will be announced on the inaugural day of the event.

The closing ceremony will be held at the Yashwantrao Chavan Kaladalan at 7pm on Tuesday.
