BCD Meetings & Events global president to retire

BCD Meetings & Events global president Scott Graf will step down after 26 years with the company, with COO Bruce Morgan stepping up to the leadership role, BCD announced on Thursday.

Graf has led BCD M&E throughout the entirety of its current form, having begun the meetings and events division at Chicago-based McCord Corporate Travel in 1997.

That eventually became WorldTravel Meetings & Incentives when WorldTravel BTI acquired McCord, which in turn became BCD M&E as BCD Travel formed with the merger of WorldTravel BTI, TQ3 Travel Solutions and The Travel Company.

Morgan’s appointment as global president is “effective immediately,” and Graf will continue working with the organisation’s leadership team on the transition through the end of this year. He then will take a break until April 2024, when he will “move into a new partnership with BCD founder John Fentener van Vlissingen,” a venture that will be within the van Vlissingen private investment company Boron.

Morgan has been with BCD M&E for nearly 20 years and its COO since 2019.

In a statement, Graf said Morgan “is perfectly suited to lead BCD M&E into the future as it continues to innovate, challenge the status quo and pursues its quest to be the most trusted and creative meetings and events agency in the world.”
