Bhumi Pednekar reveals she auditioned Pankaj Tripathi and Ranveer Singh, says her first paycheck at YRF was Rs 7,000 | Bollywood News

Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar has opened up about her first salary at Yash Raj Films, which was Rs 7,000. She also recalled being an assistant to YRF’s casting director Shanoo Sharma, and revealed that she auditioned actors such as Pankaj Tripathi and Ranveer Singh.

In an interview with Mashable, Bhumi said, “My first paycheck was from Yash Raj Films. It was for Rs 7,000, and I was very excited. My first paycheck I gave to my mom, she must be still having it. I had taken a loan as a film student and most of whatever I used to earn would go towards the repayment of my loan.”

Bhumi recalled getting thrown out of Whistling Woods college for not having the appropriate attendance. She reached out to friends for work as an assistant director, but then YRF offered her a job as an assistant casting director.

Talking about working as a casting director for six years, Bhumi said, “I was a very good casting director actually, and in those six years, I have done so many different jobs with YRF. I had auditioned Pankaj Tripathi sir for Powder. I think he remembers also, because we had a chat about this.”

Bhumi recounted the time she participated in Ranveer Singh’s audition process, and said that he had his signature star aura even back then. The actor said that they were auditioning actors for Band Baaja Baaraat, and added, “I was a part of Ranveer’s auditioning process. And I remember, the moment he walked into the room, there was a weird aura, there was this energy, and he was so driven to give his best. And I actually did the lines with him. It was just so fantastic.”

Bhumi was last seen in films like Afwaah and Bheed.
