Cash For Query Row: LS Ethics Panel To Meet Today To Adopt Report On Allegations Against Mahua Moitra

The Lok Sabha Ethics Committee will meet on Thursday to adopt a draught report on the cash-for-query allegation against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, with indications that the panel will be critical of the charges levelled against her.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had complained to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla about Moitra, accusing her of asking questions in Lok Sabha at the request of businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for gifts. According to a PTI report, the charges against Moitra are likely to be dismissed by the committee, especially after she accused its chairman, Vinod Kumar Sonkar, of asking her filthy and personal questions in the previous meeting before storming out in a rage with opposition members.

There are indications that the committee may make a recommendation against Moitra in its report to Speaker Birla, despite opposition members’ dissent notes, the report said.

Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Meeting To Be Held In Ayodhya Today:

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet will meet in Ayodhya on Thursday as the city prepares for the opening of the Ram temple in January.

The date, November 9, is significant because it was on this date in 2019 that the Supreme Court issued its decision in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case, paving the way for the construction of the Ram Temple.

On November 9, 1989, the Vishva Hindu Parishad held a’shilanyas’ (foundation stone laying) ceremony for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
