An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 hits Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri at around 3:49 am, National Center for Seismology said, as reported by news agency ANI.

President Murmu To Visit West Bengal

President Droupadi Murmu will be on a visit to West Bengal on Thursday to to launch an advanced stealth frigate and a campaign against addiction, stated the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday. “During her one-day stay in Kolkata, the president will launch ‘My Bengal, Addiction Free Bengal’ Campaign under the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’, organised by Brahma Kumaris at Raj Bhavan, Kolkata. She will also grace the launch of Vindhyagiri – the sixth ship of project 17A of Indian Navy at Garden Reach Shipbuilders Engineers Limited,” it said in a statement, reported PTI. 

Rahul Gandhi To Visit Ladakh

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will on Thursday visit Jammu and Kashmir’s Ladakh, reported IANS, quoting a party source as saying. As per the report, he will be on a two-day visit to the Himalayan region with no other plans shared by the party source. Rahul Gandhi visited Jammu and Srinagar during his Bharat Jodo Yatra in January this year after which he again visited Jammu and Kashmir on a personal visit in February this year and visited Gulmarg Skiing resort.

Chandrayaan-3 Lander To Separate Today

India’s Chandrayaan-3 is moving closer to the moon and the Indian Space Research Centre on Wednesday said the lander module is scheduled for separation from the propulsion module on Thursday.

“Today’s successful firing, needed for a short duration, has put Chandrayaan-3 into an orbit of 153 km x 163 km, as intended. With this, the lunar bound maneuvres are completed. It’s time for preparations as the Propulsion Module and the Lander Module gear up for their separate journeys. Separation of the Lander Module from the Propulsion Module is planned for August 17, 2023,” the space agency said in a tweet.
