Breaking News: Louisa County Sheriff’s Office In Search Of Robbery Suspect | KCII Radio

breaking-news-2

Louisa County residents, specifically those in the Columbus Junction area are advised of a possible armed robbery suspect in the area.

Last night, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office performed a traffic stop at the area of Highway 92 and Eastern Access Road in Columbus Junction. The vehicle that was pulled over was involved in an armed robbery that took place in Mt. Pleasant prior to the stop. The vehicle was occupied by two African American males, one of whom was detained and turned over to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department. The other took off on foot from the scene.

A perimeter was established in the area and a search for the subject was done using K9 and a drone. The suspect was not located, and may still be in the area. All citizens are encouraged to lock their homes and vehicles, and if you see the subject, call in right away and do not approach. Officers are looking for an African American male, approximately six feet tall, last seen wearing a blue and white shirt, blue and white shorts, and could be armed.

KCII will have more information as it becomes official.
