CBIC issues SoPs for scrutiny of GST returns for FY’20 onwards; DGARM to identify cases

The CBIC has come out with a standard operating procedure (SoP) for scrutiny of GST returns for fiscal 2019-20 onwards under which the analytics unit will identify returns for scrutiny depending on various risk parameters.As per the SoP, selection of returns for scrutiny will be done by the Directorate General of Analytics and Risk Management (DGARM) based on various risk parameters identified by them. DGARM will select the GSTINs registered with the Central Tax authorities, and the details of GSTINs selected will be made available on the scrutiny dashboard of the concerned Central Tax officer on ACES-GST application. Kanpur-Delhi flight soon! Scindia confirms new route

People of Kanpur would be able to fly to Delhi very soon. The news was confirmed by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. While at present, there are 11 airports functioning across the state, the Narendra Modi government plans to open 11 more airports in a period of next three years, Scindia said at the inauguration of a new terminal at Kanpur Airport.

In near future, Kanpur will have smooth air connectivity with cities such as Aligarh, Moradabad, Pantnagar and Shravasti. In the next phase of development, Saharanpur, Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Ghazipur, Moradabad, Aligarh, Shravasti will get airport facilities, Scindia further added. Read More

Parliament building inauguration: Traffic advisory issued

The capital is all geared up for the inauguration of the new Parliament building by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28. Ahead of the mega event, the police have made adequate arrangements to ensure that the event is held without any hiccups. Adequate security arrangements have been made ahead of the event and the police have assured deployment of adequate personnel on Sunday.
As per a traffic advisory issued by the Delhi Traffic Police department on Saturday, the New Delhi district will be treated as a controlled area and only public transport vehicles, civil service aspirants, bonafide residents, labelled and emergency vehicles will be allowed to ply in the New Delhi district. Nepal PM on 4-day visit to India

Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will travel to India on Wednesday on a four-day official visit for talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and other leaders to further strengthen the age-old, multifaceted and cordial ties, it was announced on Saturday. This will be Prachanda’s first bilateral visit abroad after assuming office in December 2022.

Prachanda, 68, will be accompanied by his daughter Ganga Dahal. He is visiting India at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Prime Minister Modi, Nepal’s foreign ministry said. Read More

Hindware Home Innovation posts Q4FY23 profit

Hindware Home Innovation Limited posted its fiscal fourth quarter profit at Rs 22.29 crore, down 40.3 per cent from Rs 37.31 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. It posted revenue from operations at Rs 767.85 crore, up 12 per cent in comparison to Rs 685.63 crore in the fourth quarter of FY22. The company EBITDA stood at Rs 90 crore, up 33 per cent on-year and the company registered a sequential growth of 8 per cent in the topline and an expansion of 49 per cent in EBITDA against the backdrop of an improving market environment and a strong focus on productivity and efficiency. Karnataka: 24 new ministers take oath 

Karnataka got a full Cabinet on Saturday as 24 new ministers were administered oath by Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot at the Vidhan Soudha in Bengaluru. The cabinet expansion comes two weeks after the Congress came to power with a resounding mandate in the state, and a week after Siddaramaiah took oath as Chief Minister alongside Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and eight other ministers on May 20. NITI Aayog: 7 CMs to skip meeting chaired by PM

Kerala’s Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot won’t be attending the NITI Aayog Council meeting presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Saturday. CM Gehlot has cited health reasons for not attending the meeting, while CM Vijayan has not given any specific reason for his absence.

Other than him, Delhi’s CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab’s CM Bhagwant Mann, Telangana’s CM K Chandrashekhar Rao, West Bengal’s CM Mamata Banerjee and Bihar’s CM Nitish Kumar are expected to skip the meeting on Saturday.

PM Modi will chair the eighth governing council meeting of Niti Aayog on Saturday on the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Role of Team India’ at the new Convention Centre in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

As the chairman of NITI Aayog, PM Modi will preside over the meeting.

Karnataka Cabinet expansion

A week after assuming power, the Congress government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will carry out the cabinet expansion by inducting 24 legislators who will be sworn in as ministers on Saturday. The Karnataka government can have 34 ministers. Ten of them, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy D K Shivakumar, were sworn in on May 20. According to the Chief Minister’s office, the swearing-in will take place at 11.45 AM inside the Raj Bhavan. Read More

Delhi-NCR lashed with rain and gusty winds 

Rain with gusty winds lashed Delhi and the National Capital Region on Saturday morning. Waterlogging was witnessed in several parts of Delhi after the rainfall. The India Meteorological Department said a cluster of cloud patches is passing through Delhi-NCR. Under its influence, thunderstorm/dust storm with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with speed of 40-70 kmph would continue in Delhi-NCR and adjoining areas during the next two hours, it said around 6.30 am.

On Friday, the maximum temperature in Delhi settled at 34.5 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal. As per media report, flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport were also disrupted due to heavy rain and inclement weather.
