This evening, rookie defensive end Dylan Horton announced via a statement from the Houston Texans that he will be away from the team for an indefinite period of time due to a “personal health matter:”
“I’m currently dealing with a personal health matter that will keep me away from the team for an indefinite period of time,” Horton said in a statement. “I want to thank my family, my teammates and the entire Houston Texans organization for the support and care they have already provided me. I will provide updates from time to time, but my main focus right now is on my health and recovery. Thank you and God bless.”
The specific reason for his departure was not disclosed. At this time, there is no timetable for his return.
Horton was also listed on the Houston Texans’ injury report today, with the reason stating “Not injury related – illness:”
So far, the 2023 fourth-round pick out of TCU has appeared in all 10 games and has tallied 13 tackles, one tackle for loss, two QB hits, and a fumble recovery.
