Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda said price growth remains slower than the central bank’s goal, explaining why officials are continuing with their current monetary-policy strategy.

Policymakers from around the world have traveled to the resort town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming for a two-day economic symposium hosted by the Kansas City Fed. In a speech to the gathering on Friday, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said the US central bank is prepared to raise interest rates further should the economy and inflation fail to cool.
