Google Really Wants Developers To Use Its Latest AI

Google this week will release another version of its latest artificial intelligence model, Gemini, targeted at software developers, the latest competition for customers between the tech giant and other rivals like OpenAI and Microsoft.

Gemini Pro for enterprises will let developers build apps, chatbots and even marketing presentations, Bloomberg reports.

The developer-focused version of Gemini comes only a week after Alphabet initially unveiled the new AI. Google had said it planned to release three versions of Gemini — Nano, Pro and Ultra — with the AI’s basic versions working similarly to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

The surprise debut of another form of Gemini suggests Google’s debut last week was met with excitement and demand. At the same time, it likely also highlights Google’s frenzy to maintain a top position in the boom around artificial intelligence and keep pace with competitors, including OpenAI and Microsoft, two of the industry leaders that have been boosted by a closely interlinked alliance.

Importantly, Gemini Pro’s pricing is becoming “significantly more attractive,” Google’s Thomas Kurian told Bloomberg.
