Here is the latest Pac-12 Conference sports news from The Associated Press | Olympics

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Johnell Davis scored 35 points and had nine rebounds to lead No. 14 Florida Atlantic to a 96-95 double-overtime victory over No. 4 Arizona in the Desert Classic. It was FAU’s first victory over a top-10 team. Giancarlo Rosado made the back end of two free throws with just under a minute remaining for what turned out to be the winning point Saturday for the Owls. Caleb Love led Arizona with 26 points. He missed a 3-pointer at the final buzzer.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Ben Bryant passed for 222 yards and found Bryce Kirtz in the corner of the end zone midway through the fourth quarter, helping Northwestern beat Utah 14-7 Saturday night in the Las Vegas Bowl. Bryant went 22 for 34 with two touchdowns as Northwestern (8-5) closed out its season with a fourth straight win. The Wildcats limited Utah (8-5) to 221 yards and had two interceptions and a fumble recovery. Bryson Barnes was 8 for 13 for 55 yards with two interceptions, and Ja’Quinden Jackson rushed for 55 yards on eight carries to lead Utah, which lost three of its last four games.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jahmir Young scored a career-high 37 points and Maryland defeated UCLA 69-60, sending the Bruins to their fourth straight loss. Donta Scott added 17 points for the Terrapins, who improved to 8-4. They won their fourth in a row despite struggling through an 11-minute scoring drought in the closing minutes. Sebastian Mack scored 17 points to lead UCLA. The Bruins fell to 5-6. They trailed by 20 points early in the second half before closing within two, but couldn’t take the lead. Maryland led 43-28 at halftime after the Bruins shot just 9 of 28 from the floor.

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Colorado coach Deion Sanders took a big step toward improving the Buffaloes’ pass protection by landing the nation’s top offensive tackle prospect in Jordan Seaton. Seaton is rated as the nation’s No. 11 overall prospect in his class regardless of position, according to composite rankings of recruiting sites compiled by 247Sports. Seaton verbally committed to Colorado earlier this month but didn’t sign a letter of intent Wednesday as the early signing period opened. He announced Friday he’ll play for the Buffs.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Quinn Ewers is still the starting quarterback for No. 3 Texas as it prepares to face No. 2 Washington in a College Football Playoff game on Jan. 1. However, there will be a lot of eyes on the backup with the famous pedigree. Freshman Arch Manning, grandson of Archie, nephew to Peyton and Eli, has risen to the backup role after Maalik Murphy recently entered the NCAA transfer portal, with ESPN reporting he’s headed to Duke. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said Manning will be ready, if needed.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (AP) — Oregon State and Washington State have joined the West Coast Conference as affiliate members for several Olympic sports the next two years. The league announced the agreement on Friday that gave the Beavers and Cougars a home for sports like men’s and women’s basketball. The two schools had previously aligned with the Mountain West Conference for football after the collapse of the Pac-12.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said he has never experienced a season with so many injuries like this one. The Utes were especially hard hit on the offensive side. Northwestern coach David Braun was hired in January as the defensive coordinator. He was unaware he would be called upon to take over a program engulfed in a hazing controversy. Both coaches navigated their circumstances to meet Saturday in the Las Vegas Bowl. Utah is 8-4 and Northwestern is 7-5.

BOSTON (AP) — NCAA President Charlie Baker is drawing on lessons learned during his eight years as a Republican governor in a Massachusetts dominated by Democrats as he tries to help the college athletic association navigate increasingly choppy political waters. Baker has floated a proposal that would require schools that want to be a part of a new D-1 tier to commit to paying their athletes tens of thousands of dollars per year through a trust fund. During eight years as governor Baker adapted to a sometimes frosty political environment by making as many allies as possible and choosing his fights carefully.
