  • The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, laid the foundation stone of the Shri Kalki Dham temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district. Shri Kalki Dham Temple is being constructed by the Shri Kalki Dham Nirman Trust, whose chairman is Acharya Pramod Krishnam. 
  • The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, has conferred the prestigious ‘Jeevan Raksha Padak’ to Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) constable Sh. Shashikant Kumar for the year 2023.
  • Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi took over as Vice Chief of the Army Staff on February 19, 2024. Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi held the position of General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, from 2022 to 2024, before assuming the position of Vice Chief of the Army Staff.

  • The Henley Passport Index 2024 has been released. As per the latest index, India is ranked at 85. The Indian passport provides visa-free access to around 62 countries. This year, France tops the index as its passport provides visa-free access to around 194 countries. The Henley Passport Index ranks the countries on the basis of the strength of their passports. 
  • A UK-registered Lebanese-operated cargo ship was reported to be under attack in the Bab al-Mandab Strait off the coast of Yemen.

  • The Department of Fisheries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). The objective of the collaboration is to provide a digital platform and empower all stakeholders, including traditional fishermen, fish farmers producer organisations (FFPOs), and entrepreneurs from the fisheries sector, to buy and sell their products through e-markets.
  • India rejects the European Free Trade Association’s “data exclusivity” requirement to preserve the interests of domestic generic pharma companies.

  • The Indian women’s team created history by winning the first ever Badminton Asia Team Championships with a 3-2 victory over Thailand in Shah Alam, Malaysia.
