M62 traffic live updates as car overturns after crash

A car has been flipped onto its roof on the M62 as queuing traffic builds following the collision.

According to the traffic management system, Inrix, one lane is currently closed on the M62 westbound due to the accident. The lane is closed from junction 23 at the A640 New Hay Road in Huddersfield to junction 22 at the A672 at Rishworth Moor.

Photos from the scene show a grey car flipped completely onto its roof as cars pass by in other lanes. The car has damage to its front end and no one is inside.

The images show traffic cones set up around the crash as the emergency services and vehicle recovery deal with the crash. It is not known how the car ended up on its roof.

Inrix said: “One lane closed and queueing traffic due to overturned vehicle on M62 Westbound from J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield) to J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor).” Find all the latest updates below.
