Motorists are being warned to expect disruption this rush hour as a busy Greater Manchester road is closed off. Police are currently at the scene on the A577 Orrell Road in Orrell, Wigan.
The road has been closed off in both directions between the M58 and Fleet Street, at the border with Pemberton. The Manchester Evening News understands the closure follows a collision involving a pedestrian and a motorcyclist.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police Wigan wrote on Twitter: “Officers are still dealing with a road traffic collision on Orrell Road from this afternoon.

“Delays are to be expected with road closures in place on J26 of M58 for Orrell Interchange to Fleet Street. People are asked to avoid the area whilst enquiries continue.”
