Here are your Manchester United evening headlines on Monday, August 28.
United still exploring midfield options
Manchester United have not ended their interest in signing a second midfielder as the transfer deadline looms.
United are still looking at options to bolster their midfield, especially as new signing Mason Mount is out until next month with a muscular injury.
Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich has been floated as a possible option while he continues to warm the bench for the Bundesliga champions.
Gravenberch, 21, has started six times since he opted to join Bayern over United last summer. The Netherlands international was nurtured by United manager Erik ten Hag at Ajax. Sofyan Amrabat was omitted from the Fiorentina squad for their 2-2 draw with Lecce on Sunday amid the possibility he could leave and, while United have monitored him, they expect Amrabat to join another club if he does leave.

Ten Hag pushing for more transfers
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants at least one more signing beyond Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayındır.
Bayindir, 25, is expected to join United in a €5million (£4.29m) deal and the club are exploring options to reinforce at left-back, with Luke Shaw set to be sidelined for at least two months with a muscular injury.
United’s Adidas home shirt is made up of the same colour of the city’s iconic red rose and features a black collar. The collar also features a dash of both red and white, giving it a slick and modernised look.
Sergio Reguilon of Tottenham, Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella and Barcelona full-back Marcos Alonso are among the left-backs under consideration by United. A move for either Spaniard would be a loan arrangement.
Goalkeeper Dean Henderson is on the verge of completing a transfer to Crystal Palace for £20m plus add-ons. Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman was in the Old Trafford directors’ box for United’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday and Henderson travelled down to London with his agent that evening.
