Maya Jama shares health update ahead of Love Island reunion

Maya Jama has shared a health update ahead of the Love Island reunion, which will see the cast of the 2023 series reunite to reflect on villa life. The programme is set to take place on Sunday, August 6, just one week after Jess Harding and Sammy Root were crowned winners of the summer show.

Maya is set to be at the helm of the reunion alongside Indiyah Polack and Sam Thompson, who have joined her each week for the Love Island spin-off Aftersun. As usual, it’s expected the whole cast will join Maya on the sofa, including runners-up Whitney and Lochan, Ella and Tyrique who finished in third place, and Molly and Zach, who came fourth.

Ahead of the reunion, Maya has shared a health update with her 2.8 million followers. Posting a video to her Instagram Story on Saturday, August 5, the 28-year-old wrote: “Feeling sorry myself lol. Glands are swollen and I’ve got a temperature… man down.”

Maya accompanied the caption with a tearful emoji. It comes after the presenter revealed her “final job” before taking a break was the reunion. It’s been a busy summer for Maya who has hosted the second series of Love Island in a year, graced the cover of Vogue magazine, and joined the Rimmel London team.
