Milad-Un-Nabi: Hyderabad Police Issues Traffic Diversion Advisory

Hyderabad: In light of the upcoming Milad-Un-Nabi peace procession, the Hyderabad city police have laid out specific traffic diversions and restrictions. The advisory will be active on October 1, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Procession Route and Diversions:

  • As the procession commences from Syed Quadri Chaman, Gu-lam Murtuza Colony, vehicles headed towards Shamsheergunj and Engine Bowli will be rerouted at the MBNR crossroad to Kandikal Gate, Phisalban-da, and Old Kurnool Road.
  • Approximately 15 minutes before the procession’s arrival at Syed Quadri Chaman, traffic at Goshala will be redirected, with restrictions towards Shamsheergunj and Engine Bowli.
  • Traffic from Ba-hadurpura moving towards Kala-pather will be diverted at Kalapathar Y Junction towards Ali Nagar Jahanuma.
  • During the procession’s passage through Mecca Masjid, diversions will be in place at Armaan Hotel towards Etebar Chowk.
  • Simultaneously, traffic from Sheer Bathil Kaman (Ghansi Bazar) will be rerouted under the Sheer Bhatil Kaman to Meetika Sheer and Ghansi bazaar.
  • As the procession approaches Purani Haveli, vehicular movement from Bibi Bazaar towards Etebar Chowk will be diverted through Bhavani Nagar, Talab-katta areas. Moreover, diversions from Kalika-man will occur at Ar-maan Hotel and Prince College Lane.
  • Officials have also indicated a closure at Etebar Chowk behind Chadaw ki Mosque, redirecting traffic towards Ganga Nagar Nala.

Security Measures:

Commissioner of Hyderabad city police, C.V. Anand, spearheaded a video conference discussing the security and traffic logistics for the Milad-un-Nabi procession. The primary focus of the meeting was to ensure the procession’s smooth progression.

Officers have been entrusted with closely collaborating with event organisers, ensuring the procession sticks to its designated path. With several new officers in the ranks, Commissioner Anand directed South Zone DCP P. Sai Chaitanva to provide a detailed overview of the annual Milad customs, its historical relevance, and the main organising bodies.
