Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition early access start date and time confirmed plus what Dragon Krystals are used for

Mortal Kombat 1 is just over two weeks away from hitting digital and physical store shelves, but those willing to spend a bit more on the game will get it even earlier.

We now know the exact start date and time for Mortal Kombat 1’s early access period for those who pre-order the game’s Premium or Kollector’s Editions.

Although we’ve known for a while that the MK1 early access would kick off five days early on September 14, online retailers have now added concrete times for that as well.

Premium and Kollector’s Edition versions of the game will become playable at 10 a.m. PDT / 12 p.m. CDT / 1 p.m. EDT on that Thursday.

It looks like this will include the Nintendo Switch version of the game too.

The recent Steam store update also seems to have confirmed that PC players will have cross-platform play available to them for the first time in the series, and it may even be ready to go at launch.

For spending the $110 USD for Premium Edition instead of the standard $70, players get the game, Kombat Pack 1, one week early access on new characters, and 1,250 Dragon Krystals for in-game currency on top of the Sept. 14 release date too.

MK1’s Kollector’s Edition is $250 and includes the Premium contents plus 16.5″ tall Liu Kang statue, an exclusive Liu Kang costume color, steelbook case, and 2,700 Dragon Krystals.

These store updates also give more information as to what Dragon Krystals will be used for with the official description saying they can purchase cosmetic items like skins, colors, gear and more like potentially taunts and Brutalities.

Kombat Pack 1 for MK1 will feature Ermac, Quan Chi, Takeda, Invincible’s Omni-Man, The Boys’ Homelander and DC’s Peacemaker as playable characters plus 5 new Kameo Fighters and the Jean-Claude Van Damme Skin For Johnny Cage.

Anyone who pre-orders the game at all will also receive Shang Tsung as an additional roster member too.

Mortal Kombat 1’s official release date is September 19 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC, so stay tuned for more coverage as we approach the big launch soon.
