Pack your patience if you’re traveling for the holidays

WISCONSIN — With less than two weeks to Thanksgiving, thousands of Wisconsinites are gearing up for at least one big trip over the next couple of months, if not more. Extra planning could be key to getting to one’s destination on time.

“I think we’re probably in for a similar situation to 2022,” said Rose Gray, business relationship director at Fox World Travel. “It taught us a lot of things, and I’m pretty sure that if you traveled last year and had any cancellations or flight delays or problems, you probably are a better traveler now because of it.”

Those who haven’t booked their flights into December yet need to do so as soon as possible, Gray advised.

“Christmastime, I’d definitely be jumping on that now,” Gray said. “It’s kind of an unusual situation this year with Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve being on Sundays, so if you have some flexibility in your schedule, and you can go a few days before or a few days after, I think you’re going to be doing yourself a big favor. We’re projecting that the 26th of December is going to be the busiest Christmas travel day this year.”
