Here are your Manchester United morning headlines for Saturday, August 5.
Andre Onana and Mason Mount to start – Manchester United predicted line-up vs Lens
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will be taking a look at his team for the final time this weekend as the Reds face Lens and Athletic Bilbao in a pre-season double header.
Like last year, Ten Hag has made the conscious decision to organise two friendlies in as many days so most of his squad can get some minutes under their belts before the first match of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers. It is safe to assume those who play against Ligue 1’s Lens on Saturday will not start in Dublin on Sunday.
However, as is the case with most pre-season games, predicting a starting XI is difficult. Undoubtedly Ten Hag will be wanting to play those who have a realistic chance of starting a week on Monday which could see a number of youngsters who featured in the US, not start.

Varane, Garnacho, Amad – Manchester United injury news
Manchester United are preparing for their final pre-season tests before the serious stuff begins on Monday, August 14.
Like last year, Erik ten Hag has organised two matches on back-to-back days to prepare for the start of the Premier League. On Saturday, the Reds will face Ligue 1 side Lens at Old Trafford. This will be followed on Sunday with a short trip over to Dublin to face La Liga opponents Athletic Bilbao.
Ten Hag chose to split his squad in preparation for the 2022/23 campaign to get as many minutes into the players as possible. However, with a number of injuries following the US summer tour, United’s squad could be immediately stretched to its capacity allowing some of the younger members of the team a chance to impress.
Ahead of the double header, MEN Sport has taken a look at the injury concerns Ten Hag is having to contend with on the final weekend of pre-season.
