PREVIEW: XC kicks off season at Trinity

MANCHESTER, CT – The week the Hartford men’s and women’s cross-country teams have been preparing for has arrived. The 2023 season opener will take place this Saturday at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn, a meet where the Hawks have never competed. The meet will commence with the women’s 5k at 10:30 a.m., with the men following at 11:10 a.m. to take on the 5k

HARTFORD QUICK HITS

  • Twelve Hawks will be running in the men’s race, including returners Jovan Joseph, Peter Efinger, Roodley Merilo, and Mathias Nevin
  • Joseph and Nevin look to continue support in the 5k race, holding a personal best time of 16:31.8 and 16:46.7 respectively
  • Merilo and Efinger are set to toe the line in their first collegiate cross-country race

The Hawks will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 16 when they travel to Gordon College to compete in the 52nd Pop Crowell Invite at Cross Country Trails in Wenham, MA.
