Tri-County United Way has announced the call for new partner agencies to apply for the 2024 Community Investment Fund, according to a news release on Friday, Nov. 17. Agencies such as nonprofit organizations and businesses may apply for funding and other help. The local United Way is looking to expand by five, adding to the nine organizations they already help.
“This is an opportunity for non-profits to become part of the Tri-County United Way partnership,” Executive Director Kristin Chlopecki wrote. “We are looking for five new agencies that would like to receive funding from us that are in Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga Counties that are focused in the areas of seniors, youth and mental health. These new agencies would be in addition to the already established agencies we give to monthly and bi-annually.”
If agencies are interested to be considered, they can apply to be a part of the Community Investment Process from December 1- January 15th. A committee of volunteers will decide five agencies that will move into our regular screening process that begins in the spring.

The United Way advocates for the health, education, and financial stability of individuals in the communities of Warren, Washington, and northern Saratoga Counties.
Chlopecki said they have catered their services for the upcoming year to reflect the need among the counties they serve.
“We have decided to make these changes to expand our funding and footprint throughout Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga Counties concentrating on the focus areas of youth, seniors and mental health,” she said.
In the release they expressed gratitude and appreciation to present partner agencies for their continued years of devoted support, service, and commitment. They said they take pride in their enduring partnership with each of their current partner agencies across Warren, Washington, and Northern Saratoga Counties.
Chlopecki said as the needs of the community evolves they remain dedicated to providing community-driven solutions by identifying and supporting new partner agencies.
“With the expansion of our Community Investment Fund, we are excited to increase our community impact footprint and support more senior, youth, and mental health focused programming,” she said.
The applying partner agency must also serve Tri-County United Way’s Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed population which is for those who are above the federal poverty level, but below a sustainable wage.
The priority area screening application is available on Tri-County United Way’s website, www.tricountyunitedway.org starting Dec. 1st.
All priority area screening applications must be submitted through the Tri-County United Way’s website by Jan. 15th, 2024. Applying entities must hold be a nonprofit within the Northern Saratoga, Washington, or Warren Counties.
The applying partner agency must also comply with relevant legal, federal, state, and local operational and reporting requirements such as government-approved accounting practices, annual audits, 990 tax forms, and nondiscrimination policies. Once screened and approved, an agency will then need to complete a full Request For Approval for a maximum of $10,000, with up to five new agencies being selected in 2024.
