A clear to partly cloudy sky is expected tonight with seasonable temperatures in the upper 20s to middle 30s.

A warming trend is forecast through Saturday bringing temperatures above normal Friday and especially Saturday.

Partly cloudy Friday….increasing clouds on Saturday. A stray shower is possible during the day/evening Saturday, but the bulk of the rain holds off until around/after midnight into Sunday.

We are tracking our next weather maker arriving Saturday night into Sunday with periods of rain (possibly heavy at times Sunday). We are expecting 1.0″ to 1.75″ of rain most areas (more NC mountains). Breezy conditions Sunday with falling temperatures during the afternoon (50s into the 40s with 30s by late Sunday evening).

As colder air rushes in Sunday evening, the rain could end as snow showers or flurries (especially mountains). There is increasing potential for accumulating snow Sunday evening/night (mainly across the higher elevations). Check back for updates.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the 20s to near 30 Monday morning, so wet roads could become slick (especially higher terrain).

Drying out and cooler Monday and Monday night. Warming a bit Tuesday and Wednesday.

The normal high for this time of year in the Tri-Cities is 51. The normal low is 30.
