EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – The winners have been chosen for the University Of Evansville’s Changemaker Competition.
On Friday, we introduced you to Elie Duff and Jacob Barnwell who are behind the ‘Solar Lens’ project, which is all about making neighborhoods safer.
The project won this weekend’s Changemaker Competition.
The plan is to add solar powered lights to Evansville neighborhoods that have drone cameras attached to them.
Both New Tech Institute juniors say this competition will not be something they will forget.
”It’s definitely a nerve wracking experience, but it’s also something that if you get the opportunity to go through you should,” said Duff. “It’s worth while. You may even win first place, like he said it’s an unforgettable experience. There’s nothing quite like it.”
The team will receive money to fund the project, as well as full rides to the University of Evansville.
