The Russian President Vladimir Putin is ‘healthy and fine’, said the Kremlin spokesperson after speculations aired about Putin’s health.

Dmitry Peskov who is the spokesperson of the Kremlin is in a regular call with the reporters. He also denied suggestions of Putin using body doubles and called it an “absurd hoax”.

On a Russian telegram channel an unsourced report mentioned that the Russian president has suffered a serious health episode on Sunday evening. This report was then picked up by Western media.

The Telegram channel is known as General SVR and has been monitoring and reporting about the 71-year-old Russian leader for some time.

The report on the channel said that at about 21:05 Moscow time, security officers of the President who were on duty at his residence heard a noise that sounded like that of falling that came from his bedroom. As the officers arrived in the bedroom they saw Putin lying on the floor next to the bed.

It also claimed that Putin had to undergo resuscitation after he experienced cardiac arrest.

The Kremlin criticised the reports about President Putin suffering a heart attack. The unverified report mentioned that Putin had collapsed in his bedroom after the alleged cardiac arrest.

There have been constant claims about Putin’s deteriorating health since Russia invaded Ukraine more than a year ago.

According to Reuters, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov assured reporters, “He’s all good, this is just another phoney story.”

In an interview in 2020, Putin had denied all rumors about using body doubles. He had once used one in the past for security reasons.

Putin continues with his intensive schedule which involves meetings and public appearances. On Wednesday, he is scheduled to meet with religious leaders from Russia.
