Winners of business start-up initiative in Collierville announced | News

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. – A company announced in July that they will have a pop-up shop contest to offer limited free retail space as a business start-up initiative.

Now, the votes are in but with six winners.

L.Y.E Academy, a dance company based in the Bluff City, was one of the winners of the Pop Local business initiative by Edward Realty Company.

The dance group will be opening soon at Suite 626 at the Carriage Crossing’s.

The company originally announced that they will offer two entrepreneurs or small business owners 3 rent-free months to test their products or services in a retail store front as well as $5,000.

On the company’s site it said “Pop Local at Carriage Crossing was an overwhelming success! We received 200+ applications from so many deserving, highly-qualified businesses. Our original intent was to name two winners. However, after careful consideration and meeting all Finalists, we opted to award SIX businesses with 3 months of free rent and $5,000.”
