You Need To Be At This Huge Halloween Event In Downtown Augusta

So, it is definitely still summer in Maine.  The latest forecasts call for it to be mostly sunny all weekend and we are expected to have temperatures in the upper 70s or lower 80s!  Honestly, it is still great beach weather!

But, that does not mean we shouldn’t start thinking about all of the fun fall events that take place here in Central Maine.  Cornfield mazes, leaf peeping, high school football, and HALLOWEEN!

The Augusta Downtown Alliance has made a Facebook post with the official details about the upcoming downtown Augusta Halloween event: Trick Or Treat on Water Street.

Over the last few years, this event has really morphed.  It started out as an event put on by the Augusta Police Department and Augusta Fire Rescue.  Back then, it was held in the Augusta Civic Center parking lot.  In 2018, it was moved to downtown and the event started to include Water Street businesses and other vendors.  The event really took off from there.

These days, the event attracts thousands of families.  It is really quite a sight to see all of these people FLOOD Water Street in Augusta

This year’s event will be held from 5:30 PM to 8 PM on Saturday, October 28th.  Just like the last few years, the bulk of Water Street in Augusta will be closed to traffic during that time.  In addition to the participating downtown businesses, the streets will be filled with vendors.  Plus, there’ll be live music from a well known local band.

The Augusta Downtown Alliance says of the event:

We will have over 40 vendors, food trucks, games and activities for kids, and LIVE MUSIC by Pat Colwell and the Soul Sensations! We also have LIVE DANCE performances at 6pm and 7pm from Merkaba Sol Witches’ Dance Crew and “Haunted” storefronts to explore!
