Bengaluru Bandh Today on September 26 Updates: A complete ‘Bengaluru Bandh’ was called on September 26 by farmers’ groups, several Pro-Kannada organisations and opposition parties to protest the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. Moreover, a Karnataka Bandh has been called on September 29 over the same dispute. While many establishments and associations have extended support for the shutdown in Bengaluru, several have withdrawn their support from the Tuesday Bandh and have decided to participate during the state-wide Bandh on Friday. In the latest development, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda said that the bandh in the city on Tuesday would “not be permitted” and the same had been communicated to the organisers. Addressing a news conference, he said prohibitory orders would be in place from Tuesday midnight to Wednesday midnight. Section 144, which prohibits gathering of more than 5 people in public, will be imposed in the city.
