Air France Is Named “Europe’s Leading Airline in 2023” by World Travel Awards

Air France has secured the award of Europe’s Leading Airline 2023 from the World Travel Awards. The French flag carrier was shortlisted with nine other airlines from other countries in Europe for the same award.

World Travel Awards celebrated its 30th edition on September 29th in Batumi, Georgia. Alongside Europe’s Leading Airline 2023 award, several other awards were presented during the celebration. Awards like the best and leading airlines, destinations and attractions were recognised from all around the world, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

The other nine shortlisted airlines for this award are as follows:

  1. British Airways
  2. Iberia
  3. Icelandair
  4. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
  5. Lufthansa
  6. SAS Scandinavian Airlines
  7. Swiss International Air Lines
  8. Tap Air Portugal
  9. Turkish Airlines.

Previously, when receiving the award for Europe’s Leading Airline- Economy Class 2022, on behalf of Air France, Fabien Pelous, SVP of Air France, was asked about the airline’s future plans. He emphasised the importance of promoting and urging a great customer experience.

Seemingly, his words have been taken into consideration since only one year after, in 2023 they won a total of three awards, which are as follows: Europe’s Leading Airline 2023, Europe’s Leading Airline – First Class 2023 and Europe’s Leading Airline Brand 2023.

Earlier, in 2005, Air France won its first award in the category of Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – First Class, and since then, it has been nominated in various categories and achieved success by winning ten awards, including World’s Leading Airline – Premium Economy Class 2022, Europe’s Leading Airline – Business Class 2021 and Europe’s Leading Airline- Economy Class 2015.

Furthermore, based on the data released by Air France KLM Group, the airline transported 83 million passengers in 2022. During the second quarter of 2022, there were many developments as €386 million in revenue was generated, and net income reached €324 million, representing a €1.8 billion increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

In addition, as announced in Air France’s official press release, following their recognition as Europe’s Leading Airline in 2023, the airline is set to become the official partner for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
