Agastya Nanda will be making his debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. Agastya is the great-grandson of Raj Kapoor.
Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, is ready to make his film debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. After a long wait, the film is finally ready for its release as it starts streaming on December 7 on Netflix. In the film, Agastya plays the central character of Archie Andrews and at a recent event, when the actor was asked if he was a “Casanova like Archie,” Agastya laughed it off.

Speaking at the India Today Conclave in Mumbai, Agastya said, “I wouldn’t call myself a Casanova. I think something we did share in common was music.” The 22-year-old actor said that he was “so grateful” to Zoya Akhtar for choosing him for the role and mentioned that he “auditioned for it.” Agastya is the son of Amitabh’s daughter Shweta Nanda. His father Nikhil Nanda is the son of Ritu Nanda (daughter of Raj Kapoor).

Agastya was asked about his biggest role model in life and the actor spoke about his late grandmother Ritu Nanda. “I would say my role model is my dadi Ritu Nanda. She is no longer with us but she is a person I’ve always aspired to be like. She just had this warmth about her. If you were around her, you would feel like you could do anything. And I wish I could do that for the people around me, give them that positivity and love,” he said. Ritu Nanda passed away in 2020.
Unlike his peers, Agastya is not on Instagram but admitted that he does have a secret Instagram account to check the reels. He said that he was not very good with his Instagram game but “I have my sister, who is my greatest PR. She posts everything that I need and my mom.” Agasyta’s sister Navya Naveli Nanda is an entrepreneur who recently hosted a podcast called What the Hell Navya, with her her mother and grandmother Jaya Bachchan.
