Bengaluru News LIVE: Leaders from the ruling Congress continued to maintain that there is no water to release to neighbouring state Tamil Nadu, as the ongoing Cauvery river water sharing dispute worsened. The southern state has planned to file a petition before the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) to express its inability to release water.

Wrong side driving on Bengaluru Mysuru Expressway continues
Even after repeated guidelines and warnings, a few drivers seem to be flouting rules on Bengaluru Mysuru Expressway. Tackling wrong side driving on south India’s first expressway has become a challenge for Karnataka police.
Recently, a school bus was spotted on the wrong side of the high speed lane on the expressway. The video was shared on X and Karnataka ADGP Alok Kumar said that the action will be taken. He wrote, “Ramanagara Police is on job. Will take stringent action.”

Karnataka govt declares 195 taluks as drought hit
After considering recommendations from cabinet sub-committee, the Karnataka government has declared 195 taluks as drought-hit in the state. Out of 195 taluks, 161 are declared as severely drought-hit and 34 are declared as moderately-drought hit.
The government also said that Karnataka faced a severe rain shortage of 73 per cent, which was not witnessed in the past 125 years.
