rsenal maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 4-0 win away at struggling Bournemouth on Saturday as Kai Havertz opened his account for the North London club while Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Ben White also scored on a fantastic day for the Gunners.

Arsenal’s breakthrough came when a Gabriel Jesus header from a tight angle came off the post and Saka was in the right place to head in from the rebound.

Bournemouth conceded two penalties either side of halftime after crunching tackles in the box, and the visitors cruised ahead to 3-0 as Odegaard dispatched the first before Havertz scored the second – his first goal for the Gunners.

White then scored with a glancing header from a set piece in injury time as Arsenal provisionally moved up to second while Andoni Iraola’s winless Bournemouth side dropped into the relegation zone with just three points from seven games.

Havetz arrives as an Arsenal player just in time for Man City

Kai Havertz’s time at Arsenal has sparked into life – and how fitting the Vitality Stadium was the scene for it.

It was here around a year ago that William Saliba announced his arrival at Arsenal as the Gunners cruised to a 3-0 victory.

The Frenchman scored the third and his goal promoted the travelling fans to sing his name to the tune of ‘Tequila’ by The Champs.

On and on they went, singing long into the afternoon and all the way back to north London.

Arsenal player ratings: Odegaard shines; lift-off for Havertz

Kai Havertz scored his first goal for Arsenal as the Gunners beat Bournemouth to close the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City to one point.

The German scored Arsenal’s third goal on their way to a 4-0 win, slotting a penalty after Martin Odegaard had been fouled.

Mikel Arteta’s side were already cruising by that point after going 2-0 up before half-time thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Odegaard.

Saka nodded home a header from a few years and Odegaard scored a penalty, which had been won by Eddie Nketiah. Arsenal added a fourth in injury-time through Ben White.
