Election Result Highlights: After Congress suffered a massive defeat in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh, the party on Tuesday convened a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLC) meeting in Jaipur to review reasons for the poll debacle. The CLC members unanimously decided to give authority to the party’s high command to select the Leader of Opposition (LoP) for the Rajasthan assembly elections.
Meanwhile, MP Congress chief Kamal Nath and senior leader Digvijay Singh alleged EVM malfunction and said that Madhya Pradesh elections were not fair and free.
In Telangana, Congress state unit chief Revanth Reddy is set to become the next Telangana Chief Minister after the CLP meeting in Hyderabad today. The decision will be made final when the party high command approves the decision.
Polling for Rajasthan’s Karanpur Assembly seat that was adjourned following the death of the Congress candidate will be held on January 5, the Election Commission announced on Tuesday.
