President Droupadi Murmu To Commence 2-Day Visit to Jammu and Kashmir
President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a two-day visit to the picturesque region of Jammu and Kashmir, commencing on Wednesday. During her visit, she will partake in the convocation of the University of Kashmir and make a sacred pilgrimage to the revered Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, PTI reported.
Upon her arrival in Srinagar on October 11, President Murmu will grace the 20th convocation of the University of Kashmir. This educational milestone will witness her participation as a distinguished guest in a significant academic ceremony. Additionally, on the same day, she will engage with local tribal groups and women belonging to self-help organizations at the Raj Bhavan. Furthermore, a civic reception will be held in her honour at the Raj Bhavan, serving as a platform for interactions with dignitaries and locals alike.
On October 12, the President will visit the iconic Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, a site of immense spiritual significance for millions of devotees. During her visit, she will inaugurate the newly remodelled Parvati Bhavan, a revered structure atop the Trikuta hills in Reasi district. This renovation marks a significant enhancement to the shrine’s facilities, reinforcing its status as a revered pilgrimage destination.
In addition to these engagements, President Murmu’s visit holds paramount significance in the context of strengthening ties with the region and fostering cultural exchanges. It is expected to further the region’s development and bolster the spirit of unity among its people.
Madras High Court To Hear Bail Petition of Senthil Balaji
Tamil Nadu Minister without portfolio, Senthil Balaji, will have his bail petition heard by the Madras High Court on Wednesday, following a plea by his counsel, N.R. Elango, IANS reported.
The Principal Sessions Court in Chennai had, on September 20, denied his plea for bail, citing the gravity of the offence and the evidence against the minister. Senthil Balaji, who has been serving as a minister without portfolio in the M.K. Stalin cabinet for the past four months, now awaits the outcome of the upcoming hearing, which holds substantial implications for his legal situation.
Andhra Pradesh CID’s PT Warrants against Chandrababu Naidu to be Heard in Court
The Amaravati Inner Ring Road scam and AP FiberNet case have taken a legal turn as a court has scheduled the hearing for Andhra Pradesh CID’s petition for prisoner transit (PT) warrants against TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu to October 11, PTI reported.
The Inner Ring Road (IRR) scam revolves around alleged irregularities in the construction of an internal ring road in Amaravati city. The CID has asserted that changes in the road’s alignment were made to provide undue favor to companies linked to TDP leaders, including Chandrababu Naidu.
Meanwhile, the AP FiberNet scam, which unfolded during the TDP regime between 2014 and 2019, pertains to alleged irregularities in AP State FiberNet Ltd (APSFL), involving a sum of ₹321 crore.
These cases have garnered significant attention due to their political implications and the ongoing legal proceedings are closely watched by political observers and the public.
