Internet ban in Manipur

The Manipur government has decided to extend the ongoing ban of internet services in the state. According to the circular issued on Sunday, the internet ban will continue till June 30. The decision has been taken in order to prevent any disturbance in the fragile peace order.

Kedarnath Yatra stopped

The Uttrakhand administration has decided to call of the Kedarnath Yatra 2023. The decision has been taken due to heavy rains in Rudraprayag district. Rudraprayag District Magistrate Mayur Dixit said that the Yatra has been stopped at Sonprayag till further orders.

Mumbai building collapse

Due to incessant rains in Mumbai, part of a building in a colony located in Ghatkopar(East) collapsed on Sunday morning. Latest reports say that rescue operations are underway. Officials say while four people were taken out of the debris, two are still believed to be trapped inside.

Itham tension resolved

After a stand-off between a mob led by women and security forces that had cordoned off Itham village in Imphal East, where a dozen members of militant group KYKL were hiding, the Army took “a mature decision” to not risk civilian lives and left with seized weapons and ammunition, officials said on Sunday. The Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), a Meitei militant group, was involved in a number of attacks, including the ambush of a 6 Dogra unit in 2015, they said. The stand-off in Itham went on throughout Saturday, and ended after a “mature decision by the operational commander keeping in view the sensitivity of use of kinetic force against large irate mob led by women and likely casualties due to such action”, they added. Heavy rains in Himachal

Amid heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, at least eight vehicles were damaged in Kullu. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall along with lightning and thunderstorm in isolated parts of the state on Sunday and Monday. In its daily bulletin, the met department has also issued a yellow alert indicating thunderstorms and lightning on June 27 and 28. (ANI)

IMD alert in Maharashtra

The weather department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for some regions in Maharashtra. Heavy rains are expected in Ratnagiri and Raigad areas.
