Nawaz Sharif Expected to Return to Pakistan Today

After four years of self-imposed exile in the United Kingdom and evading bail conditions set in 2020, Nawaz Sharif, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, is anticipated to return. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s legal team is cautiously optimistic that Sharif will not face immediate incarceration upon his return.

This optimism stems from a recent development in which the Islamabad High Court granted him temporary relief by providing protective bail in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia corruption cases, which is in effect until October 24.
