‘Burglar’ stabbed during break-in at Kirk Ella home

An alleged burglar has been stabbed after reports that he and two other people entered a property in a leafy village near Hull.

Police have arrested three people on suspicion of burglary, while a fourth man was also arrested for an alleged assault, following the reported break-in on Grundale, in Kirk Ella, at around 3.20am on Sunday.




Officers were on the scene quickly and all three burglary suspects were located nearby and arrested. The three men arrested for burglary remain in police custody, while the man arrested for assault has been bailed.

One of the alleged burglars was stabbed during the incident and Hull Live understands that the property was occupied at the time. The man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detective Inspector Amy Keane-Christie, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation but can confirm three people have been arrested in connection with the burglary and remain in our custody whilst we continue enquiries to establish the circumstances.

“A scene guard was put in place at the time to allow officers to conduct enquiries however this has now been removed. Our neighbourhood officers will continue to be in the area, providing additional reassurance to local residents. If anyone has any concerns or questions please come and speak to them.
