WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – On Wednesday, Feb. 7 the Burkburnett Police Department showcased its newest technology at the Axon Roadshow.
Axon Enterprises has provided BPD’s tech for around five years. The roadshow features Axon’s latest tasers, fleet tech, body cameras, and more.
Police Captain Shane Culp said this is the department’s way of staying current on their police technology.
“It never stops. Technology comes out every single day and you’ve got to stay on top of it. You’ve got to keep working a driving towards that new technology and this is just a part of us living into our core value: being the most innovative department in the area.” Culp said.
Visitors had the opportunity to test VR tech, shoot a taser, or sit in a police car as well as pick up some Axon merch on their way out.
