Is Prasoon Joshi On His Way Out Of CBFC?

Prasoon Joshi marked his esteemed presence at the 10th edition of the Gujarat Literature Festival (GLF), which turned out to be an extravaganza, bringing art, culture, literature, and everything else under the same umbrella. Every edition of this culturally rich literature festival outdoes the last one. But this edition of GLF has also raised a lot of whispers that perhaps Prasoon Joshi is quitting the CBFC (Censor Board of Film Certification).

This has largely stemmed from the fact that the CBFC chairperson spoke to a section of the media about going back to writing, hinting at his way out of CBFC and the impact of AI on writing.

Prasoon Joshi Is The Latest Controversy That Has Mired The CBFC

Of late, the Censor Board has been making headlines for a lot of wrong reasons. The CBI registered a case against a few CBFC officials and three others after Tamil actor Vishal made bribery allegations. Vishal had said that he had to pay Rs 6.5 lakh to CBFC for the certification of the Hindi version of his Tamil film Mark Antony.

And then Ravinder Bhatkar, who was the CEO, left office in mysterious circumstances and was soon replaced by Smita Vats Sharma.
