The Clay County Public Health Center has been notified of a confirmed case of measles.A Liberty, Missouri resident recently tested positive.The health center said Friday the individual was at Kansas City International Airport on Thursday, Jan. 4, and North Kansas City Hospital from Jan. 5-6. Individuals in these areas, on these dates, may have been exposed: Terminal B, general concourse, and baggage claim at KCI on Jan. 4 from 6:15 p.m. to 9 p.m. Passengers on that flight have been contacted by health officials.North Kansas City Hospital Emergency Department waiting area, patient processing, and observation on Jan. 5 from 8:26 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.North Kansas City Hospital second-floor admission unit on Jan. 5 from 2:15 p.m. to 8:30 pm.North Kansas City Hospital eighth floor pavilion medical & surgical patient unit from Jan. 5 at 6:30 p.m. to Jan. 6 at 8:30 p.m.Health officials are encouraging anyone who may have been in those areas to watch for symptoms of measles until Jan. 27. Symptoms include a high fever, cough, runny nose, and red and watery eyes. A red rash appears usually three to five days after the symptoms start.
