Edward Foster Clouser, 50, of Carlisle, has been charged with bad checks, theft by deception and receiving stolen property for allegedly purchasing two gold rings for $1,484 from Marc Williams Goldsmith, 430 Wiliam St., with a bad check last Nov. 28, city police alleged in an affidavit. He waived his preliminary hearing last week before District Judge Aaron Biichle and is free on $10,000 bail.
