Delhi News Live Updates:  The air quality in the city was in the lower spectrum of the “very poor” category on Monday morning. Delhi saw shallow fog and recorded a minimum temperature of 14.5 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees above normal on Monday morning. The maximum is expected to be around 24 degrees Celsius, alongside a partly cloudy sky. On Sunday night Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida and Gurgaon saw light intensity rain/drizzle at night.

Meanwhile, amid the ongoing complaints over the scarcity of funds, the Public Works Department (PWD) has directed all its divisional officers looking after road repair, maintenance, buildings and flyovers to not start any new work from next month. It has also asked all the officials concerned to submit an annual plan for their respective divisions. According to a senior official, the engineers have been directed to not float any new tenders for new projects or repairs and maintenance of roads and stretches.

In other news, BJP wants to imprison Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as they are convinced they cannot win elections in the Capital, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders said during its ‘Mai Bhi Kejriwal’ signature campaign Sunday. “The BJP is convinced they cannot win elections in Delhi and is plotting to topple the government by getting CM Kejriwal arrested. All ministers, MLAs, councillors, and AAP workers are reaching out to people door-to-door, asking for their opinion: should Kejriwal resign if BJP manages to get him arrested or not?” AAP Delhi head Gopal Rai said.

A Delhi University committee will oversee the review of the School of Open Learning’s self-learning material and formulate guidelines for preparing future study materials.

The decision has been taken after repeated issues of “errors”, both factual and spelling, were flagged in the self-learning material that was presented before the Academic Council.

The factual errors highlighted in the Political Science and Indian Politics papers — in both Hindi and English — of different courses included several mistakes over dates. These included wrong information such as India gaining independence in 1945 (instead of 1947), the Indian Constitution being “formed” in 1994 and Jawaharlal Nehru’s death in 1967 (instead of 1964), among others.

A four-member committee comprising the South Campus director, Campus of Open Learning director, dean of academic affairs and the head of the English department will be notified by Monday or Tuesday.
