Nineteen nonprofit agencies and advocacy groups are the latest recipients of Endeavor Health’s annual community investment grant program.

The grant program began in 2022 after Edward-Elmhurst Health and NorthShore University Health merged. The health system rebranded as Endeavor Health earlier this year.

The grants are intended to provide funding to agencies for health care access, homelessness reduction and fighting food insecurities in communities served by Endeavor’s nine hospitals.

Since its inception, the grant program has awarded more than $21.4 million to various agencies throughout the Chicago area, Endeavor officials said.

Many of the grants are for multiyear projects. That’s why 43 organizations will split more than $10.2 million from Endeavor Health’s Community Investment Fund this year alone, officials announced Monday.

New recipients this year include 360 Youth Services based in Naperville, Alive Center serving Naperville and Aurora, the Elmhurst Yorkfield Food Pantry, Equal Hope out of Lake County, Little Friends in Warrenville, Loaves & Fishes Community Services in Naperville, Haymarket Center serving Naperville and Elmhurst, NAMI DuPage, People’s Resource Center in Wheaton, Shelter, Inc. in Palatine, Tri-Town YMCA serving Oakbrook Terrace, Villa Park and Lombard and the West Suburban Community Pantry in Downers Grove.

Along with seven other agencies based in Chicago, Romeoville or along the North Shore, the 19 new recipients received a combined $8.3 million in grants, according to Endeavor’s Community Investment Fund website, endeavorhealth.org/cif.

“At Endeavor Health, we are not just funders but conveners, bringing together diverse groups to cultivate collaboration and innovation,” said Kristen Murtos, Chief Innovation & Transformation Officer at Endeavor Health. “We are thrilled to grow and deepen the impact of our Community Investment Fund this year, marking a significant step forward in our commitment to enhancing health and wellness across the communities we serve.”
