ESPN Signs Boxing Insider and Analyst Mike Coppinger to Extension

ESPN has announced it has struck a multi-year contract extension with boxing analyst Mike Coppinger.

“Excited to continue to deliver boxing coverage and breaking news across ESPN platforms!”, Coppinger said on X, formerly Twitter. “Thanks to everyone for all your support.”

Coppinger will continue his work as ESPN’s boxing insider. Additionally, he will remain an analyst on the network’s State of Boxing programs. He will also be a contributor to coverage of the upcoming fight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou that will air on ESPN+ on Saturday evening.

In addition to his work with the cable sports outlet, Coppinger is also an elector for the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Coppinger joined ESPN in 2019 after previously working at The Athletic and USA Today.

Earlier this year, Coppinger made headlines after he was denied a credential to attend the blockbuster fight between Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford in Las Vegas. Reports claimed the network “went deep to the mat” to attempt to get Priemer Boxing Champions to reverse its decision.
