Strong thunderstorms with torrential rainfall prompting weather warnings across many parts of Massachusetts Friday, leaving a path of damage in some cities and towns that could take week or months to recover from. Flash flood warnings were posted late Friday night for areas that saw the most intense rainfall from thunderstorms. A tornado warning was briefly issued for part of northwestern Worcester County, where doppler radar indicated rotation in a storm near Petersham. There were no immediate reports of tornado or funnel cloud sightings following the warning.Once the skies clear, conditions are expected to make way for a mostly sunny summer weekend.
