Former Quincy Business Owners arrested in Florida for theft

Former Quincy owners of Backyard Adventures Pools and Spas Andy and Michelle Reardon now face two theft charges after being arrested in Florida.

The Reardons were arrested on September 27th by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Department in Brooksville, Florida on an Illinois warrant, 20 minutes from their home in Spring Hill.

On September 7th, an Adams County Grand Jury indicted the husband and wife duo on a theft charge of more than $10,000 and a theft more than $500.

Combined, they could face up to 12 years in prison.

In December of 2021–the Better Business Bureau of Eastern and Southwest Missouri and Southern Illinois released a consumer warning about the couple’s business after numerous complaints of inferior workmanship, poor customer service, and lack of communication.

Backyard Adventures Pools and Spas was given an “F” rating — the lowest on the Better Business Bureau’s scale due to unresolved complaints, including customers issues with pool installments and some not receiving the items they purchased.

Andy Reardon signed a waiver of extradition to Illinois and has consented to returning for an appearance on October 17th in the Adams County Circuit Court.

Records show the same type of waiver for Michelle Reardon were available from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Department.
