Buu “Billy” Ngo, a founder of the restaurant Kru in Sacramento, has moved closer to winning a prestigious culinary award for best chef in California. The James Beard Foundation announced the finalists for its 2024 Restaurant and Chef Awards on Wednesday. Ngo is now one of five California finalists in his category.
