Neeraj Chopra will take the field today and throw the javelin to defend his title. With Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem missing out, the reigning Olympic and world champion will be the top contender to strike gold in Hangzhou.

Boxer Lovlina Borgohain will fight in the women’s 75kg final against Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Li Qian from China. The Indian boxer, who already secured a Paris 2024 quota, could sign off with a gold medal on her Asian Games debut.

The Indian men’s hockey team will have the final and an Olympic quota in their sights as they take on the four-time champions Republic of Korea in the semi-finals.

Avinash Sable, the men’s 3000m steeplechase gold medallist in Hangzhou, will run in the 5000m race to emulate compatriot Parul Chaudhary with a double-medal finish at the Asian Games 2023.

Men’s high jump, women’s triple jump, women’s 800m and 4x400m relays, all medal events, can also boost India’s athletics tally at Hangzhou.

Saurav Ghosal will take the court in the squash singles semi-finals in his bid to better his 2014 Asian Games silver finish. Dipika Pallikal-Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu and Anahat Singh-Abhay Singh, meanwhile, can secure mixed doubles gold and silver for India with semi-final victories.

Badminton at the Asian Games 2023 continues as PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, Kidambi Srikanth and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty will play in the round of 16.

The Indian men’s and women’s kabaddi teams will also take the mat in their group matches.

Two medals are on offer in archery – the compound mixed team and the recurve mixed team. Greco-Roman grapplers are set to kick off wrestling at Hangzhou 2023.

The Indian men’s team will play their final three rounds of the bridge semi-finals against China today. The equestrian jumping team medal event and individual qualifying will also see Indian riders in action today.
