Global Technology Summit To Take Place In New Delhi, With Focus On ‘Geopolitics Of Technology’: Check Out Dates

The highly anticipated eighth edition of the Global Technology Summit (GTS) is set to take place from December 4 to December 6 in New Delhi. Themed “Geopolitics of Technology,” the summit promises to be a gathering of influential minds in the field of technology and geopolitics.

Organised by the Policy Planning & Research Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, in collaboration with Carnegie India, GTS 2023 is India’s premiere event on geo-technology. Ministers and senior government officials from various countries, including India, US, UK, Germany, Singapore, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Lithuania, Brazil, and the European Union, are slated to participate in this prestigious event.

The inaugural session will witness an address by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, setting the tone for the discussions to follow. Over the course of three days, GTS 2023 will feature more than 40 public sessions, encompassing keynote addresses, ministerial speeches, panel discussions, book launches, and other engaging events.

A diverse array of speakers, including policymakers, industry experts, academics, technocrats, and innovators from India and around the globe, will convene to explore crucial questions related to technology’s impact on geopolitics. Topics such as new, critical, and emerging technologies, digital public infrastructure, export controls, data protection, innovation, and national security will be at the forefront of discussions.

GTS 2023 aims to foster a comprehensive dialogue, with active participation not only from governmental figures but also students and young professionals, known as GTS Young Ambassadors.

Last year’s Global Technology Summit saw a convergence of leading global figures in diverse fields such as technology, government, security, space, startups, data, law, public health, climate change, academics, and the economy. Themed around the ‘Geopolitics of Technology’ as well, GTS 2022 hosted a dynamic array of sessions, featuring insights from more than 100 speakers. The comprehensive programme includes over 50 panel discussions, keynote addresses, book launches, and various other events, contributing to a rich and insightful discourse on the evolving landscape of technology.
