Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’s first trailer shows a Titans’ battle royale
Legendary’s Monsterverse has a new Godzilla and King Kong mashup coming up. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire marks a departure from the previous Godzilla vs Kong narrative, pivoting from a climactic confrontation to an unexpected alliance between the iconic titans.
Set some time after the events of the last movie, The New Empire introduces a new narrative thread, where Godzilla and Kong unite against a formidable new ape adversary, posing a threat to humanity.
Director Adam Wingard, returning after his successful directorial venture in the first Godzilla vs Kong movie. Since their last appearance, both Godzilla and Kong have undergone notable transformations. Godzilla has evolved into a new, pink-hued form, while Kong has embraced his role as the axe-wielding ruler of the Hollow Earth. Interestingly, Kong’s character arc now includes the addition of a son.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire stomps into theatres on 12 April, 2024.
